Coresteel Canterbury unveil new Kenneally Timber project

Coresteel Buildings Canterbury hosted a showcase event last week to celebrate the opening of Kenneally Timber’s new premises.

A great crowd of around 70 people enjoyed the event put on by Coresteel Canterbury on Thursday the 9th June at Belfast Business Park. Guests enjoyed the bonus of meeting with Highlanders rugby players as Coresteel is a major sponsor of the sport franchise.

The showcase event was a great opportunity for Coresteel Canterbury to show off our latest build, Kenneally Timber. The building is an architecturally designed 1000 sqm warehouse plus 200 sqm office and showroom,” says Coresteel Canterbury owner, Stephen Fitzgerald.

It was awesome to have the Highlanders players, NeHe Milner-Skudder and Tim O’Malley there to support the building reveal,” he says.

Kenneally Timber produce and supply quality timber to the wider Christchurch market, and have done so for over fifty years. It was Kenneally Timber that approached Coresteel Buildings Canterbury to design and build a custom 1200m2 warehouse to support their new phase of growth.

Coresteel’s Tapered Box Beam portal system truly won Kenneally Timber over. Without supporting brackets or braces, the Tapered Box Beam system is perfectly suited for large-scale warehouses because it adds extra internal space.

During the Kenneally Timber project, Coresteel managed the process from start to finish with their in-house design, engineering, manufacturing, and construction teams. This meant that the Canterbury team could deliver the project within a shorter timeframe while maintaining a cost-effective price for the client.

Best of all, the project resulted in a satisfied customer.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the finished product from Coresteel. Coresteel has absolutely nailed this project from start to finish. From the initial meeting, design build concept and costing, through to the planning meetings and construction, everything was completed on budget and on time,” says Declan Kenneally, owner of Kenneally Timber.

“Stephen, Nicky and Coresteel have been an absolute privilege to work with and we look forward to working with them in the near future.

It is now our job to complete the yard and racking fit out. If we can complete it to the same high standard, quality and professionalism as Coresteel it will be a final product we can truly be proud of,” Declan says.
