Holmes Construction joins Coresteel
When the team at Holmes Construction was looking for ways to expand their business offering, Coresteel offered the perfect solution.
With the head office in Greytown, Holmes Construction Group Ltd is the newest Coresteel franchise, joining the company in August.
Director Marc Jurlina says Holmes Construction has diversified to add value to the company’s core construction business.
“We have a well-known and well-established brand after 55 years of successfully operating in the lower North Island. We build anything and everything – timber, structural steel and concrete etc, and now Coresteel has created an opportunity for us to dominate the commercial steel construction market.
“It means we can offer more to existing clients as well as attracting new clients.”
Marc says the cold-formed steel market is steadily growing across New Zealand, with the product basically selling itself. “Once people realise the performance statistics and capabilities of cold formed steel, it’s not a hard sell. Every second building is cold formed steel now. It performs fantastically well and it goes up faster.”
Marc is director of Holmes Construction, alongside brothers Andy and Tim Holmes, who took over the business from their father. The company began in the Wairarapa in 1957 and has since moved into the Wellington market.
