Coresteel Southland Awarded Best Bespoke Building of 2017

The custom-designed Plumbing World in Invercargill has been named the Best Bespoke Building of 2017, within the Coresteel Buildings network.

The award was received at the annual Coresteel Buildings National Conference, held 7-8 March in Whangarei.

Coresteel Buildings specialise in the design, manufacture and construction of steel buildings.

The all new Plumbing World has recently opened on Bill Richardson Drive in Invercargill, with a 1062sqm premises which caters for trade and the public through specific warehouse and showroom areas.

The building utilises Coresteel’s cold form Bracketless Portal System, including bird-resistant purlins in the warehouse area.

“For this project, we teamed up with McCulloch Architects and Barry Stewart Builders, who designed and constructed the Plumbing World building. Their initial vision and drawings were then brought to life by the Coresteel engineering team,” says David Henderson, Director, Coresteel Buildings Southland.

In the past year, Coresteel Southland has worked on commercial builds for companies around Southland and Central Otago, alongside a number of lifestyle and rural builds. Among others, projects have included new premises for Mico Plumbing and Bathrooms.

“It is certainly exciting that our best bespoke building award is in Invercargill. David and his team have delivered exceptional projects into the Southland/Central Otago regions over the past 12 months. The team has a busy 2018 ahead, with some exciting projects currently in design,” says Haemish Reid, General Manager, Coresteel Buildings.

David is a born and bred Southlander, having lived his whole life in the province of Southland. He has eight years experience in the building industry and 18 years in sales management.
