Emmetts’ Inspection Facility a One-stop-shop
A crowd of supportive locals gathered at Emmetts Truck Services last week for the grand opening of a new truck inspection workshop in Palmerston North.
Owners Bruce and Suzy Rea say the new facility, which was opened on Thursday 21 May will enable Emmetts to provide their customers with a top-quality service.
“With the on-going changes that face the transport industry, the time frames that trucks are available for servicing are shorter than ever. Yet transport operators are still required to ensure their equipment is operating at a constantly high standard, which puts the pressure on us to perform,” says Bruce.
The new facility, built by Coresteel Buildings Manawatu has enabled Emmetts to meet these needs. “Our workshop inspection facility features top-of-the-range testing equipment, including two 27m precast service pits, each with inbuilt MAHA roller brake testing systems. This means that from 1 July this year we will be fully-equipped to provide a Certificate of Fitness inspection. We’ll be a one-stop-shop truck servicing facility.”
The completion of such a facility was made possible by Coresteel Buildings Manawatu, operated by Geoff Spencer.
“I sat down with Geoff and we created a plan of what my ideal building would look like. The Coresteel system was the perfect fit for our needs and enabled us to utilise as much space as possible in our 540m2 building, with 30 metre clearspan portals, 6.5 metre knee height and 7.8 metre apex. We’ve also got seven motorised shutter doors, cantilevered canopies on three sides of the building and a 120 minute fire proofing. I couldn’t be happier with the finished product.”
