The DonoBeam System: Wider Spans for More Internal Space
As the most innovative construction system in our range, the DonoBeam is the ideal choice for investing in your industrial or commercial premises. This system offers clear spans of up to 75m, allowing for greater internal space than ever before. Our tallest building to date reaches a height of 18M – and we can go even higher.
What’s the Process?
The beam is created at Coresteel’s high-tech NZ manufacturing plant by folding two halves of steel plate and welding them together to form a long box shape. When the steel frame is complete, the project is packaged with all the necessary fastenings and delivered to the site in a structural kit set. The fully bolted structure has no obtrusive knee or apex braces, which allows for more usable space within the building. Every square meter of your new commercial space can be utilised to maximise your business growth.
Economical & Environmental Benefits
The DonoBeam system offers significant cost benefits for our industrial and commercial clients. Since each steel structure is pre-fabricated before it is delivered to your site, the labour process is quick and simple. This means that less staff are required on site, and labour costs are vastly reduced.
Due to its tapered length, the Box system also requires less steel than traditional industry standards – resulting in reduced steel wastage. Not only does this reduce costs, but it also has a positive impact on the environment. By only producing the amount of steel required for the project, we significantly cut down on our carbon emissions. Less paint is also needed due to the reduced surface area, which provides further cost savings. Additionally, the beams are bird and vermin resistant, which means your building will remain in good physical condition for longer periods of time. This is particularly helpful for food storage business facilities that require extra protection from vermin.

The Bracketless Portal System: Designed for Efficiency & Appeal
In addition to the DonoBeam, our Bracketless Portal System has been used extensively in steel building construction. Introduced in 2005, this patented, cold-rolled system has been designed for efficiency, flexibility, simplicity and appeal. It offers many of the same benefits as the Tapered Box Beam, but with a span range of 9m to 30m. Like the DonoBeam, the goal of this system is to allow businesses to make the most of their internal space, with no interfering centre poles or braces.
During the construction process, steel columns and rafters are bolted together, rather than being joined with an obtrusive knee bracket. This allows for a stronger connection between the sections, as well as faster construction times and reduced labour costs. Over the years, we have produced a wide range of projects using this system, including retail shops, storage facilities, and commercial company headquarters.
